Frequently asked questions
1. What kind of illustrations do you create?
I specialise in creating diagrams and illustrations that clearly communicate complex scientific concepts. My work includes visuals for scientific publications, research grant proposals, institutional documents, covers and press releases. I combine my scientific background with my passion for visual storytelling to make science accessible and engaging.
2. What is your process?
The process begins with an initial briefing meeting to understand the scope of your project. This meeting usually takes 30 minutes and is free and non-binding. It allows us to determine if we are a good fit for the project and to define a budget. If we proceed, I’ll start by creating a rough draft of the illustration or figure that will serve to incorporate your feedback to ensure alignment. From there, I’ll prepare the final artwork with up to two rounds of revisions to refine it until the final version is perfect.
3. How can we start working together?
Feel free to reach out via email at hpinheiro.illustration@gmail.com or by using the contact form on this website. Let me know what type of illustration you’re looking for, the concept you’d like to bring to life, and your expected timeline. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!
4. Can you work with tight deadlines?
I understand that the editorial process often comes with tight deadlines, and I do my best to accommodate urgent requests. Please share your timeline during our initial contact.
5. What are your rates?
Rates vary depending on the complexity and type of project. After our initial discussion to understand your needs, I’ll provide a no-obligation quotation tailored to your project.
6. What are your deliverables?
The final illustrations or diagrams will be delivered in high-resolution formats tailored to suit your specific usage requirements.
